Knowing where you belong

26/10/07 Knowing where you belong Watched Oprah last night What a surprise!! Saw Seal and Heidi Klum— Seal has a new album that will be out on November 13th, 07. Antyway-story is he was adopted by a British family as a baby, and then a few years later his parents came back for him. All of these years later he had no recollection of his childhood or any memories. When his parents came back for him his home life wasn't exactly peachy-so he had a rough time. I saw Seal cry because Oprah set up a reunion with his adopted sister, and the family had all these photos of him, happy, playing and laughing and it touched him. I think for the first time in a long time for him, he knew that he was wanted and loved by parents-they played with him, cared for him and had recollections of sadness at his leaving their family. I felt touched , because this man-whose music touches every part of human emotion—felt vulnerable and actually got in touch with parts of himself, that had been disconnected with knowing the happiness of belonging as a child. I’m definitely going to check out his new stuff-there’s a song called amazing, and just as a testimony to human spirit, if someone like Seal could overcome all the feelings of insecurity , an unstable home environment and more to be AMAZING - -you can too.
